Der zweihundertneunundfünfzigste Freitag  20:40

Fortsetzung folgt nun…

Friday the 11th of January 2013:
new rule: You do not look one complete pile. All piles are shuffled and the topmost is revealed.
next new rule (very important): Whenever someone steals from me, I take one piece from the stolen, not from the middle. Means that whatever is stolen “shrinks” so there is no more tit-for-tat stealing (Hui, Glenmorangie Fassstärke 57,2% zieht ganz schön rein)
another new rule: you do not take so many parts and draw randomly instead there is a fixed number and some random parts are added. For the production this is much better, because not so much material needed.

Friday the 18th of January 2013:
Changed the values of the snacks to lower numbers for better calculateable VP-scores.
I started with searching for the right material for the production of the game. And the plans for the game-release-party. I must be a Friday, because thisi is the end of a five-year long project.

Friday the 25th of January 2013:
Some mixed ideas mostly depending on if the game is good with 2 or 6 players and if the game would be still a good game with complete information. Again some problems with to high numbers for calculating the scores.

Friday the 1st of February 2013:
No successful ideas for the 2 player game

Friday the 8th of February 2013:
No successful ideas for the very high VP values and the calculating problems

Friday the 15th of February 2013:
No successful ideas for the game

Friday the 22th of February 2013:
No successful ideas at all

Friday the 1st of March 2013:
Preparing for test games (buying sweets)

Friday the 8th of March 2013:
still trouble with the high value. A new idea to solve it, but not a successful one.

Friday the 15th of March 2013: nothing for this game

Friday the 22th of March 2013:
Waiting for the right idea.

Friday the 29th of March 2013:
Two plays in the family. Undocumented.

Friday the 5th of April 2013:
Finally the idea. I just lowered the point values for the snacks to have better numbers to caculate, but multiplying generated high values. But with having now values in a lower range (not so high differences anymore) it is possible to add some values not to multiply. Done!!!

Friday the 12th of April 2013:
Only a new name “Feinschmecker”

Friday the 19th of April 2013:
Henning plays the game at Gathering of Friends (because of two small children without me) and I decided the name “Futterneid”

Friday the 26th of April 2013:
I think the last important idea: Instead of all fixed numbers added to the values, one of the markers will be a copy marker, which is just copying another one (from another player). This adds some replayabilty and fun to the game.

Friday the 2nd of May 2013: (not a Friday here, but somewhere on this globe)
Still happy with the new copy action and to use the “?” as the symbol for it.

Friday the 10th of May 2013:
I got it. I designed a game very easy to understand. Very easy to play. Fast and short. It was what I always wanted to have. I do now that it is nor very strategic, because it is only 25 minutes long. I still believe, that one can design games just with a very theoretic concept behind them and design the game to fit perfectly to the concept. I know the problem sometimes comes up that I try to design the game to fit the concept best and not to design the best game (whatever best means”) Whatever I desinged a very funny game to distribute the snacks on the gaming table.
And I added another idea to use the cups in the game: Snack achievements for every game. You only need 5 cups and 5 rules for achievements. Fill the cups with something delicious and start playing. the game will be different, because some players just change their strategy to get more snacks instead of getting more VPs. I like this a lot.

Friday the 17th of May 2013:
The initial idea for the 2-player game came to me. You play 2 players (known from other games), but not alternative as usual, no one after another. So I do have to moves for two different players and then my opponent have 2 moves, and so on….

Friday the 24th of May 2013:
Only angry about the company I asked for the cups and they did not react.
(Irgendwie hat mein Netz hier gesponnen und habe mal eben alles gespeichert und publiziert, nun weiter)

Friday the 31st of May 2013:
Just changed the number of snacks to 10 per player and 40 for 2 players, because you simulate 4 players.

Friday the 7th of June 2013:
Very important: Do not only play the game one round. If there is somebody at the table not really understanding the gameplay and the scoring, can destroy some of the fun. The second round is always much much better. So this will be part of the rules.
And even if you play this game with everybody knowing it, the second round has a very special link to the first. So the game is only complete if you play the two rounds. Hopefully the gamers out there will do it and hear what the author said.

Friday the 14th of June 2013:
Finishing the game by writing the actual game rule.

Friday the 21th of June 2013: drunk, nothing for this game

Friday the 28th of June 2013:
bgg entry, first graphics

Friday the 5th of July 2013:
The best idea to “force” players to play it two times. In the game there are 10 scoring values. In the first round you only need 5 of them, so you have to play two round to use all of them.

Friday the 12th of July 2013:
Worked on matrial question, artwork issues and idea for using the material and the artwork for a better handling.

Friday the 19th of July 2013:
Preparing for Mallorca

Friday the 26th of July 2013:
Played with peoply from the gaming scene in Mallorca with horrible spanish sweets. Great fun. Decided to make the game release party when friday starts on this earth, means thursday noon in Essen.

Friday the 2nd of August 2013:

Friday the 9th of August 2013:

Friday the 4th of October 2013:
Writing the second part of the deisgner diary
